Okay, it’s time to get this show on the road. Today, I’m going to be showing you live the first step I will be taking in building my new business. In the last two posts I’ve made, we’ve covered…

So today, I’m going to show you how I install a blog, get it looking the way I want it too, and how I know what to blog on.

Now before we get into the videos let me reiterate why I suggest starting with a blog…

1. The purpose of your blog is to show that you are an authority in your niche. You know what you’re talking about, and you can help people with the information you provide. The best resource in the whole world for becoming an expert in your niche or any niche you choose is “How To Become An Expert In Your Niche In 30 Days Or Less” at www.ThisKicksButt.com/30DayExpert

I have this ebook printed out in a binder because I read it so much. Yep, it’s that incredible.

By blogging you’ll learn how to teach to sell, and that’s how you get people to buy your products or products you are promoting as an affiliate.

2. Blogs are great for SEO (search engine optimization) purposes. You can link to other websites you are promoting with specific keywords. This is known as backlinking and the more backlinks your sites that you are promoting have the more power they have in the search engines.

The content on your blog is search engine food, and the more you post the more they will eat up. Think of every post you make as a sales agent for you. The more sales agents you have out there the more sales you can make.

Blogs also allow you to use several web 2.0 tactics like social bookmarking, rss submissions, and a ton more great tactics. We’ll be talking a lot more about web 2.0 so hold tight on that thought.

3. By having a blog you can basically make it into a central head quarters for your business. The job of www.TomeyBingMarketing.com will be like an education brochure of everything I have. My products and services, my affiliate program, and more.

That’s just three reasons and there are a ton more, but these are the most important things to me in promoting my new biz.

Now, I need to start adding content to my site. Remember I want to establish myself as an authority and promote my other sites. So I’ve got to do some keyword research to see what people are searching for. This will tell me exactly what to blog about to get people to my sites.

Great, I’ve got a blog all setup, have my keywords, and now it’s time to create content. Now not all of us are born writers. I am, but I also have limited time. So I can either write the content myself, or I can outsource it.

If you want to write the content yourself, then I highly recommend that you get Andrew Hansen’s “Article Speedwiritng Course” at www.ThisKicksButt.com/ArticleSpeedWriting

Blog posts are essentially articles, so this course can really help you out. Now if you don’t have time you can always outsource the content creation for your blog. You can go to Google and search for “article writers” or just head over to any freelance site like www.Guru.com and you can find people to create keyword specific blog posts for you.

Okay, we got tons accomplished here. You need to take what you’ve learned here and get started on your own blog. No matter if you have anything to promote right now or not. You need to get your own blog and start doing SOMETHING! I suggest either getting a YOURNAME.com or YOURBUSINESSNAME.com and starting your blog, but whatever you choose, get started today!

Yesterday I made my first post talking about the new business model I was creating and got some awesome feedback. You can see that post at imtruth.com/im-truth-newsletter/the-new-biz-post-1

I got from a reader that was complaining that I could do this (meaning build a business from scratch) super easy because I already had all the skills, and a list, and on and on and on.

So today, I’m going to back up a step, and tell you what it takes to build a business, and then we’ll continue on with what I am doing….

So first off, I know Internet marketing inside and out. How? Years of buying every product I could get my hands on, reading and using those products, and putting what I learned into use.

You do have to invest. No money to invest? Then I suggest you read “Six Figure Freelancer”. ( www.ThisKicksButt.com/6FigureFreelancer ) For $37 it will show you how to make extra cash doing odd jobs for people who really need them.

Like for instance www.Guru.com It’s a freelance sites that allows people who need some kind of computer job done (web design, graphics, articles, and a crap load of other tasks) to post the job and then freelancers come and bid on those jobs.

It’s a great way to make extra money, and if you have no money to invest in your business, this is a great way to get started. I did it from the time I was 15 till I was 18. I built websites for people as a freelancer.

Great way to get some extra cash comin in.

Okay, so the first rule is you have to educate the crap out of yourself on everything about marketing and whatever your niche is. I kill two birds with one stone because my niche is marketing.

Okay, so there’s where I got all my knowledge. I’m no super genius, and I didn’t go to college for this stuff.

Next, I implemented what I learned.

I learned that I needed a list of subscribers. Now I have a list of buyers which is much better, but one thing at a time. By having a list I can send out emails whenever I want and make money.

No hype. Just a fact….

So your first step when building your business is to build a list. I personally don’t know of any all in one list building course. I plan on developing one very soon at www.ListBuildingNewbieVideos.com

Until then I recommend that you at least learn to get a squeeze page up. My friend Erik Stafford has an awesome product that will teach you to do that via easy to follow videos at www.ThisKicksButt.com/FasterWebmaster

Basically all list building is simply….

1. Building a nice looking squeeze page (Example: IMTruth.com)
2. Driving traffic to that page

You got to learn 1 and 2 to be able build a list. It’s that simple.

Basically you can get all the technical knowledge you need from Erik’s Faster Webmaster product, and my www.ResellRightsForNewbies.com (which is totally free). You’ll get different information from both sites about all kinds of technical aspects of running your business.

Okay so I got my marketing knowledge from constantly reading and using the marketing information products, my technical skills I learned online. What else?

A mentor…

You’ve got to find one person, latch on to them and follow them. Mine was Jimmy D. Brown. He’s got a butt load of amazing products, and has hands down taught me more than any marketer online!

Now I’ve talked and talked about this new business I’m going to be creating….

First off, I’m not going out of business. However, I am selling off all of my products and sites, and starting totally over. I will be keeping a few sites like…

There might be a few more, but everything else is either getting sold or going into the trash.

Why? Because to truly help people I’ve got to “trim the fat” from my business. I’ve got to be able to focus on just one thing to be able to help as many people as possible.

With too many things going on, I can’t do what my real passion is which is helping people.

So, with that said, I am getting rid of everything, and starting over from scratch. I will be starting Tomey-Bing Marketing and everything from here on out will be under that business. My husband Jamie Bing will be having a bigger hand in the business, so I’m bringing him into it too. Most of you guys know him, and he’s AWESOME to deal with.

So, what are my first steps and why?

First, we will be starting a new blog over at TomeyBingMarketing.com There’s nothing there right now, so don’t go rushing off to check it out.

Why a blog?

Well, a blog does so many things for you and it’s where I recommend everyone start.

A blog has many ways it can drive traffic to your other sites, it can help you build a relationship on autopilot with your readers, and so much more.

So we are starting the blog, giving killer content on it, so my readers will see that I am an expert in my field, and they will love me because of the killer content I will be giving.

My blog will build relationships, create a strong following, and allow me to drive traffic to my other sites…

So the first step in this new business is creating a blog and filling it with killer content!

Hey everyone… Well it’s been quite a while, and I just wanted to give everyone an update to what’s going on.

It’s official. I am totally changing my business model. Don’t freak out though. I’m not going anywhere. I’m still going to be pumping out information to you guys. Even more so than before. On April 21st I made this post… imtruth.com/im-truth-newsletter/help-me-to-help-you

I asked you guys what you wanted, and I got a ton of comments. Thank you very much! It really opened my eyes to what you guys are needing, and I’m changing everything to give it to you!

So, I will be selling all of my products off, deleting my list (more on that in a minute), and totally focusing on coaching.

I’m way to spread out right now, and the only way for me to help you more is to backup, regroup, and make a new plan. There are times in life when you have to do this type of thing, and right now that time is now and within my business.

So, as I said, I will be selling off all of my products. I will be selling off all of my domain names except for a few.

After all products and sites are sold, I will be deleting my list. Yep, you heard me right. I’ve got to be able to walk the walk since I talk the talk, and I will be building a new list from scratch. Everyone on this list will have the chance to get on the new list, so don’t worry. You’ll also be able to follow along as I build my new list and find out how to successfully build your own!

There is a lot in store for you from Tomey Marketing, and I really appreciate all of you who have stood behind us and supported my cause over the last few years. I will be back and going strong within 1-2 weeks, so stay tuned because you’ll love the new and improved Tomey Marketing!
